A marker chromosome (mar) is a structurally abnormal chromosome in which no part can be identified. The significance of a marker varies, depending on the material contained within the marker. Very few reports have been published of marker chromosomes associated with male infertility. Here, we report the case of an infertile man with a rare variant of a marker chromosome of a mos 47,XY,+mar[25]/46,XY[25] karyotype.

Sperm mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) damage is closely related with male infertility. Lacking for the protection by histone and DNA-binding protein, sperm mtDNA is prone to the attack by reactive oxygen species (ROS) and, without an effective repair system of mtDNA, ROS-induced changes in mtDNA may damage the synthesis of mtDNA encoding proteins and affect the function of mitochondria, which may be an important genetic factor for male infertility. Related studies should focus on finding the causes of sperm mtDNA damage and its relationship with male infertility.

There are limited causes of surgically treatable male infertility. Lymphangiocele of scrotum is a very rare condition particularly in adult life. Lymphangiocele causing infertility is further rare and not reported in English literature so far. We report an extremely rare case of lymphangiocele in a 29 years male presenting with male infertility that improved after surgery.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this chapter is to review hormonal therapy in cryptorchidism in boys to improve fertility.
METHODS: Multiple searches, primarily in PubMed, were performed using various combinations of the terms: cryptorchidism, undescended testis (UDT), hormonal therapy, fertility, infertility, germ cell numbers, spermatogonia and semen analyses. OBJECTIVE: To determine the association between assisted human reproduction and male reproductive disorders in infants conceived by this means.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between January 2008 and December 2011, 15,332 neonates were born in our hospital. We assessed the birth weight, gestational age, and other characteristics of the 7752 male infants and determined the association between methods of conception and male reproductive disorders in the infants.
