OBJECTIVE: We conducted a prospective study to determine the types of bone anomalies observed in different types of dental agenesia.
PATIENTS AND METHOD: This prospective series included 30 patients who attended our pluridisciplinary clinic since 1988. There were 22 cases of non syndromal agenesia and 8 cases of syndromal agenesia. Patients consulted for a variety of reasons, no specific sign was found. The diagnosis was based on the panoramic x-ray and confirmed at the genetic consultation.

PATIENTS AND METHODS: The clinical, operative and outcome data of 186 patients undergoing 200 intestinal splinting procedures from 1973 until 1996 were accumulated in a prospective database. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and safety of the excision of uterine fibroids by vaginal myomectomy.
DESIGN: Prospective study.
SETTING: A gynecology department of a university teaching hospital.
PATIENT(S): Women with menorrhagia, pelvic pain, symptoms of pressure, or subfertility attributable to moderate-sized uterine fibroids who otherwise would have required abdominal or laparoscopic myomectomy.
INTERVENTION(S): Vaginal myomectomy.

STUDY DESIGN: A prospective study was conducted at an in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer center with 485 patients with the diagnosis of long-standing unexplained infertility. PURPOSE: To determine the prevalence of ocular manifestations in childhood acute leukaemia at the time of presentation.
METHODS: Eighty-two children with acute leukaemia were examined for ocular lesions within two days of diagnosis before starting chemotherapy. The detailed ocular examination of both eyes was carried out by the ophthalmologist irrespective of the presence or absence of eye symptoms in all cases.
