Although sarcoid-like reactions are uncommon in colorectal cancer, they can coexist with other cancers. We herein report a 50-year-old woman with sigmoid adenocarcinoma and osseous sarcoid-like reactions that resembled metastases. Positron emission tomography-computed tomography revealed an uptake in the iliac bone and para-aortic lymph nodes. The depth of invasion indicates non-metastatic lesions. We herein report a case of atypical pseudo-Meigs' syndrome without pleural effusion. A 46-year-old woman was diagnosed with an ovarian tumor and sigmoid colon cancer with massive ascites. She underwent surgical resection of the sigmoid colon and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. The pathological diagnosis was sigmoid colon cancer with ovarian metastasis. A few days after the operation, the massive ascites disappeared. A patient in his 70s was diagnosed with sigmoid colon cancer[pT3pN1cM1(PUL1), pStage IV ]for which he underwent sigmoid colectomy and received S-1 adjuvant therapy for the lung metastases. The patient received a total of 10 courses of S- 1, administered orally on days 1-14 of a 21-day cycle. The lung metastases showed a complete response, and the patient completed the S-1 chemotherapy. No recurrence of lung metastases was detected up to 6 months later.

The association between malignancy and tumour-related sarcoid reaction is well documented, characterised by non-caseating granulomatous disease in haematological and solid malignancies. Its occurrence in colon cancer is rare and of unclear clinical significance. Herein, we present a case report of a 32-year-old woman diagnosed with concurrent metastatic sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma and pulmonary granulomatous disease suggestive of a tumour-related sarcoid reaction.

Gastrointestinal ulcers occur frequently and are mainly caused by H. pylori infection. In this report, we present a rare case of gastro-duodenal ulcer following selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT). SIRT is a palliative treatment for unresectable liver tumours. During SIRT, (90)Y-microspheres are infused into the hepatic artery. Pre-treatment evaluation for the presence of arterial shunts to neighbouring organs should be determined in order to avoid complications of SIRT.

This case report describes a Mullerian serous adenocarcinoma arising within a multoloculated cyst lined by ciliated serous-type epithelium located in the sigmoid mesentery. Twenty years previously the patient underwent a hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and omentectomy. Cardiac toxicity of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) has been rarely reported. We encountered a case of angina attack caused by 5-FU. A case of a pedunculated adenomatous polyp of the sigmoid colon was found to have a primary focus of signet ring cell carcinoma. Histologic examination of the medium-sized polyp was consistent with an adenoma to carcinoma sequence for signet ring cell carcinoma of the colon, similar to that for the common adenocarcinomas.
