Chunni (a piece of cloth worn around the neck by many Indian women) is a well recognized accidental ligature around the neck. We report a rare case of accidental strangulation with chunni where the patient was pillion rider on bicycle; in spite of very common of use of bicycle to best our knowledge this kind of injury has not been reported previously.

UNLABELLED: Penetrating chest injuries are mainly caused by gunshot trauma and stab injuries. These lead to damage to the vital structures, which requires a multidisciplinary approach for management.
CASE PRESENTATION: We present a case of an accidental gunshot injury (GSI) to the chest resulting in left-sided hemopneumothorax, left lung contusion, and D11 burst fracture with spinal cord injury. The patient underwent thoracotomy to remove the bullet along with instrumentation and fixation of the D11 burst fracture.

Birth injury of the skull and central nervous system can be a complication of a difficult delivery, especially following forceps or vacuum-assisted delivery. Birth trauma of the head can also mimic the appearance of a non-accidental head injury and is therefore an important differential diagnosis. We report on two young infants with serious head injuries. The difficult differential diagnosis birth trauma versus non-accidental head injury is discussed and the necessity for cooperation between clinicians, forensic doctors and specialized neuroradiologists is emphasized.

Subdural haemorrhage (SDH) as result of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common cause of death in cases of fatal physical abuse. BACKGROUND: It is common for children to accidentally ingest chemical drugs with different degrees of toxicity. Meperfluthrin is a highly effective and easy-to-use pyrethroid pesticide with low toxicity. It is widely used in electric mosquito coils. This type of electric mosquito coil is used in daily life, which increases the chance of exposure among children and, consequently, may lead to accidental ingestion. There are only few reports of meperfluthrin poisoning causing lung injury in children. We report a rare clinical case of lung injury wherein a child ingested meperfluthrin orally.

Operative injury to the ureter or bladder in 59 women who had received no previous pelvic radiotherapy was repaired as soon as possible after referral. In 32, this was less than 6 weeks from the injury, while in 27 patients the delay in referral was greater than 6 weeks. Ureteric injuries in 40 patients (43 ureters) were repaired by the Boari-Ockerblad technique. Post-operative vesicovaginal fistulae in 19 women were repaired transvesically with an omental patch. Nine cases of accidental injury with Freund's complete adjuvant to man are reported. One case is reported in detail and the other eight have been seen and reviewed retrospectively. Reactions developed in Mantoux positive individuals, who injected Freund's complete adjuvant with another protein. However, not all such injections produced the reaction. Treatment was unsuccessful, although one reaction may have been aborted by early surgical excision of the site of injection.
