Over the last decades, in industrialized countries prevalence rates of human helminthic infections were decreased by means of wastewater and food control. In this article, we review the geographic distributions as well as the impact on the public health system of the most prevalent helminthiases. The enterotoxigenicity of 208 strains of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from clinical specimens and four strains isolated from food was investigated.
