We studied the central representation of pudendal afferents arising from the clitoral nerves in 15 healthy adult female subjects using electrical dorsal clitoral nerve stimulation and fMRI. As a control body region, we electrically stimulated the right hallux in eight subjects. In a block design experiment, we applied bilateral clitoral stimulation and unilateral (right) hallux stimulation. Angiokeratoma is a benign vascular lesion. It is the result of dilation of ectatic subdermal vessels and congested capillaries. Weakness of the vessel walls, either from acquired or congenital reasons, can cause formation of the lesion. Angiokeratoma is more common in males, in whom it forms on the scrotal wall. Primary closure and healing were accomplished.
CONCLUSION: Diagnosis and curative therapy of a pilonidal cyst of the clitoris require a thorough resection which can be accomplished with preservation of the clitoris.

BACKGROUND: Nerve tumors of the clitoris and particularly neuromas are extremely rare.
CASE: A 27-year-old infibulated African woman suffering from chronic vulvar pain increasing with sexual intercourse presented for gynecologic care. Examination revealed a painful clitoral tumor. The tumor was surgically excised. The diagnosis of amputation neuroma of the clitoris was made by microscopic examination.

BACKGROUND: Hair tourniquet syndrome involves fibers of hair or thread wrapped around an appendage producing tissue necrosis. Appendages commonly involved include the toe, finger, and penis. We report a hair tourniquet resulting in amputation of the clitoris.
CASE: An adolescent presented with a 4-year history of intermittent genital pain that increased in severity over the preceding 5 days. Physical examination revealed a necrotic clitoris surrounded by a black hair. During the examination, the tissue fell off resulting in immediate improvement in the patient's pain.

The microarchitecture of the corpora cavernosa of the human clitoris was investigated by immunohistochemistry. The distribution pattern of the nerve network was demonstrated by S-100 and neuron specific enolase immunoreactivity. Current surgical procedures that are utilized in the management of patients with an enlarged clitoris are both complex and challenging. We report a new method of concealing the hypertrophied clitoris between the labia majora instead of resorting to the more difficult clitoral amputation or recession. This concealment of the clitoris is simple, may be done on an outpatient basis, and accomplishes the goal of creating normal-appearing female external genitalia.

We describe our experiences during the last 5 years with 19 cases of epidermoid inclusion cysts of the clitoris resulting from circumcision. There were 14 children and 5 adults. The management consisted of complete excision of the cyst, and reconstruction of the clitoris, wherever possible.
