Efficient analytical representations of the thermodynamic properties for carbon disulfide remain open challenges in the communality of science and engineering. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 75 participants were divided into two groups: Group 1 (n = 40) was composed of healthy postmenopausal women, and group 2 (n = 35) was composed of women with postmenopausal osteoporosis. The chemical transformation of benzene (C(6)H(6)) and carbon disulfide (CS(2)) binary solution under high pressure condition is investigated by means of Raman spectroscopy up to 6.8 GPa. On increasing the pressure, all the Raman bands of benzene decrease in intensity, whereas new broad bands start to be observed at 1520 and 1450 cm(-1), indicating that a highly cross-linked polymer is formed. The recovered sample is analyzed through Raman and FT-IR spectroscopy and is identified as a saturated hydrocarbon and element sulfur.

Carbon disulfide (CS2) intoxication may induce peripheral neuropathy, encephalopathy, and cardiovascular diseases. In our studies, abnormalities of the peripheral nerves including clinical symptoms and electrophysiological findings were still present 3 years after cessation of CS2 exposure. The authors examined clinically 1710 women.
