A clinico-pathological study was carried out based on 38 autopsies of patients with endocardial fibroelastosis ( EFE ): 82% of the cases were below the age of one year. METHODS: Charts of more than 350 patients with Behçet's disease were reviewed. Infective endocarditis is a known complication of intravenous (IV) drug abuse and typically involves cardiac valves, sparing the myocardial endocardium. We present the case of a young IV drug using patient who developed sepsis. A 36-year-old male with mild Ebstein's anomaly developed severe right-sided heart failure, following a 5-year-long course of hypereosinophilic syndrome. No regular followups had been done, during the years of antineoplastic therapy. CASE REPORT: We present a 48-year-old female patient who was diagnosed primarily with left atrial myxoma and taken into emergency surgery. The tumor extended into the pulmonary veins and infiltrated the atrial endocardium, and the histopathologic diagnosis was leiomyosarcoma.
