Autopsy studies of two infants, one a newborn, the other 4 months old, revealed massive amounts of iron in lysosomes of hepatocytes and pancreatic acinar cells. Iron, which had been transported across the placenta, accumulated in the same cell types as in adults with primary and secondary hemochromatosis. Endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma (EMPSGC) is a rare, often underrecognized, low-grade sweat gland carcinoma of the skin of the eyelid. To date, only 20 cases of this carcinoma have been reported, most frequently in Caucasian females with an average age of 70 years. Endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma (EMPSGC) is very rare, with only 61 cases reported to date. EMPSGC is considered to be a low-grade carcinoma of sweat gland origin. Flow cytometric DNA analysis was performed in 21 cases of primary hyperparathyroidism (19 adenomas in 19 cases and 5 glands with primary hyperplasia) and 24 glands with secondary hyperplasia.
