OBJECTIVE: To examine the effectiveness of two methods of increasing fruit and fruit juice intake in pregnancy: midwives' advice and vouchers exchangeable for juice.
DESIGN: Pregnant women were randomly allocated to three groups: a control group, who received usual care; an advice group, given advice and leaflets promoting fruit and fruit juice consumption; and a voucher group, given vouchers exchangeable for fruit juice from a milk delivery firm. The chemical composition and structure of the cuticular wax in blue honeysuckle fruit were investigated using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This study delves into the complex landscape of viral infections in tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum) using available transcriptome data. We conducted a virome analysis, revealing 219 viral contigs linked to four distinct viruses: tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV), southern tomato virus (STV), tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). Cannabis-fruit and vegetable syndrome is of recent discovery and linked to lipid transfer protein (LTP) sensitization. It is thought that the primary sensitization originates from the cannabis LTP (Can s 3). Sensitized patients can cross-react to others LTP homologs such as peach LTP (Pru p 3). Diagnosis may be challenging, as consumption of cannabis is often omitted by the patient and needs to be specifically addressed during the interview. Thus, meticulous history taking is mandatory. Laboratory workup includes LTP-specific IgE and skin testing. Management relies on allergen eviction.
