BACKGROUND: Bereavement is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease; however, no reports exist of interventions to reduce risk. Propranolol is a widely used beta-blocker mainly prescribed for the treatment of hypertension and other cardiac conditions. This medicine is also a frequent finding in drug screens, but little is known about its post-mortem toxicological profile. Numerous theories have been proposed to explain the origin of central serous choroidopathy (CSC). However, it has been shown recently that there is a close relationship between CSC and type A-behaviour pattern (TABP) which is characterized by high adrenergic activity in the body.
