The mediating role of organizational trust in the impact of digital leadership on job performance and job satisfaction.

This study examines the effect of digital leadership on job performance and job satisfaction, focusing on the mediating role of organizational trust. Utilizing a quantitative research design, data were collected via an online survey from 443 public employees working within the Ministry of Youth and Sports across Kırşehir, Nevşehir, Yozgat, and Aksaray. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The measurement model demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity. Structural model testing and bootstrap analysis revealed that digital leadership has a sig

Perceived organizational support, passion reflected on the field: A quantitative research on coaches working in football academies.

One of the most important roles in the development of children into professional football players belongs to the coaches working in football academies. Therefore, it is thought that the organizational support that coaches, who work under intense performance pressure, perceive from their clubs can have a significant impact on their passion for their work. However, it is anticipated that psychological and motivational factors may also play a significant role in explaining this relationship. The aim of this research is to examine the relationships between perceived organizational support, psychol

What is the influence of single-entry models on access to elective surgical procedures? A systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Single-entry models (SEMs) for the management of patients awaiting elective surgical services are designed to increase access and flow through the system of care. We assessed scope of use and influence of SEMs on access (waiting times/throughput) and patient-centredness (patient/provider acceptability). METHODS: Systematic review of articles published in 6 relevant electronic databases included studies from database inception to July 2016. Included studies needed to (1) report on the nature of the SEM; (2) specify elective service and (3) address at least 1 of 3 research questions

The Case for Capitation.

Recent studies suggest that at least 35%--and maybe over 5o%--of all health care spending in the U.S. is wasted on inadequate, unnecessary, and inefficient care and suboptimal business processes. But efforts to get rid of that waste face a huge challenge: Under current payment methods, the providers who develop more-cost-effective approaches don't receive any of the savings. Instead, the money goes mainly to insurers. The providers, who are paid for the volume of services delivered, end up actually losing money, which undermines their finances and their ability to invest in more cost-saving in

10 rules for managing global innovation.

More and more companies recognize that their dispersed, global operations are a treasure trove of ideas and capabilities for innovation. But it's proving harder than expected to unearth those ideas or exploit those capabilities. Part of the problem is that companies manage global innovation the same way they manage traditional, single-location projects. Single-location projects draw on a large reservoir of tacit knowledge, shared context, and trust that global projects lack. The management challenge, therefore, is to replicate the positive aspects of colocation while harnessing the opportuniti

A randomized clinical trial testing two implementation strategies to promote the treatment of tobacco dependence in community mental healthcare.

INTRODUCTION: People with serious mental illness (SMI) are more likely to smoke and less likely to receive tobacco treatment. Implementation strategies may address clinician and organizational barriers to treating tobacco in mental healthcare. METHODS: A cluster-randomized trial (Clinic N=13, Client N=610, Staff N=222) tested two models to promote tobacco treatment in community mental healthcare: standard didactic training vs. Addressing Tobacco Through Organizational Change (ATTOC), an organizational model that provides clinician and leadership training and addresses system barriers to tobac

Implementation of a Transitional Care Model for Stroke: Perspectives From Frontline Clinicians, Administrators, and COMPASS-TC Implementation Staff.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Stroke is a chronic, complex condition that disproportionally affects older adults. Health systems are evaluating innovative transitional care (TC) models to improve outcomes in these patients. The Comprehensive Post-Acute Stroke Services (COMPASS) Study, a large cluster-randomized pragmatic trial, tested a TC model for patients with stroke or transient ischemic attack discharged home from the hospital. The implementation of COMPASS-TC in complex real-world settings was evaluated to identify successes and challenges with integration into the clinical workflow. RESEA

Multiproject interdependencies in health systems management: a longitudinal qualitative study.

BACKGROUND: A health care organization often engages in the simultaneous implementation of multiple organization change initiatives. However, the degree to which these initiatives are implemented and can be enhanced based on their interdependencies is an open question. How organizations and the change initiatives they pursue might benefit from more careful examination of potential interdependencies among projects was explored in this article. PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to introduce a multiproject management conceptualization that stresses project interdependencies and suggests synergi

The power of virtual integration: an interview with Dell Computer's Michael Dell. Interview by Joan Magretta.

Michael Dell started his computer company in 1984 with a simple business insight. He could bypass the dealer channel through which personal computers were then being sold and sell directly to customers, building products to order. Dell's direct model eliminated the dealer's markup and the risks associated with carrying large inventories of finished goods. In this interview, Michael Dell provides a detailed description of how his company is pushing that business model one step further, toward what he calls virtual integration. Dell is using technology and information to blur the traditional bou

Implementing a medicines dispensing service in a university pharmacy: A qualitative study of experiential learning and work system factors.

BACKGROUND: Dispensing can be a strategic clinical service when organized around the care process. Such models are relevant in university affiliated pharmacies (UPh), where service delivery is integrated with experiential education. However, their implementation may be challenged by organizational resistance. This study explored barriers and facilitators to implementing a medicines dispensing service model from a sociotechnical perspective. METHODS: A qualitative study was conducted in a UPh. Participants were pharmacist preceptors, faculty members, and pharmacy interns (n = 18). Data were co

Posttreatment drug use abstinence: does the majority program clientele matter?

The current study examines differences in organizational characteristics and client posttreatment drug use abstinence in residential substance abuse treatment programs serving clients with high or low levels of legal coercion to participate in treatment. The findings show that low legal coercion programs have higher counselor caseloads (Z = 59, p < .05) than high coercion programs. Although the results showed that programs with a large proportion of African American clients (β = 14.26, p < .0001) and high legal coercion programs (β = 19.99, p < .05) predicted longer abstinence posttreatment, t

Employee Voice in Digital Service Platform Environments: The Roles of Perceived Digital System Support and Psychological Empowerment.

Digital transformation has reshaped work processes across the tourism industry, increasing the need to understand how employees perceive organizational digital systems and how these perceptions are associated with workplace behaviors. This study examined the relationships among perceived digital system support (PDSS), psychological empowerment, and voice behavior among tourism employees from an organizational behavior perspective grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model. Data were collected through an online survey of employees working in travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and foodservice o

When mission meets isolation: a five-wave longitudinal study of how workplace loneliness erodes job embeddedness through role stress and organizational identification among railway police.

INTRODUCTION: Workplace loneliness is increasingly recognized as a critical concern in occupational health psychology. However, the sequential mechanisms through which it translates into organizational detachment remain poorly understood, particularly in high-loneliness occupations such as railway policing. OBJECTIVES: Drawing on Social Identity Theory and Equity Theory, this study proposed and tested a moderated serial mediation model. The model examined two research questions: (a) whether workplace loneliness predicts lower job embeddedness through the serial mediation of role stress and or

A new model of bioterrorism risk assessment.

There has been an abundance of different bioterrorist attack scenarios and consequently an unclear biodefense strategy so far. We present a framework for bioterrorism risk assessment that we believe would be useful for policymakers and understandable without needing to be an expert in this field. We retrieved the Medline database via PubMed (from January 1987 to January 2009) and cross-referenced and reviewed the terms biological weapons, biological attacks, bioterror, bio(defense), bio(strategy) and epidemiologic models, and risk assessment. Additionally, we conducted an internet search with

How the 'warped' relationships between nurses' emotions, attitudes, social support and perceived organizational conditions impact customer orientation.

AIMS: Much research focuses on organizational culture and its impact on customer orientation or emotional states and their impact on job satisfaction and well-being. This study aims to combine the complex roles of nurses' emotion states and job satisfaction in a model that identifies the effects of standards for service delivery (organizational culture), supervisor and co-worker support and the development of customer orientation. BACKGROUND: A previous study examined the relationships between nurses' personal resources, job satisfaction and customer orientation. This study examines how these

Genealogies of organizational closure: from logical paradox to mind in life.

Organizational closure occupies a central position in contemporary theories of autonomy, anticipation, agency, sense making, and the continuity between life and mind. Its investigation has given rise to a diverse landscape of related explanations, including closure to information, cyclic closure, operational closure, semantic closure, closure-to-efficient causation, metabolic closure, and closure of constraints. Although each of these explanatory approaches captures important aspects of organizational closure, their proliferation has often generated conceptual ambiguity. As a result, organizat

The Mediating Role of Organizational Silence in the Relationship Between Change Fatigue and Work Engagement Among Chinese Clinical Nurses.

BACKGROUND: Healthcare institutions are undergoing ongoing organizational changes to optimize clinical services and patient care. These changes may induce change fatigue and organizational silence among nursing staff, undermining their work attitudes and professional performance and potentially compromising patient safety. While previous studies have explored the relationship between change fatigue, organizational silence, and work engagement, few have examined the mediating effect of organizational silence in this relationship, especially within the Chinese healthcare context. OBJECTIVE: Thi

Different types of human-AI interaction and employees' knowledge territorial behavior: the role of organizational dehumanization and paradoxical leadership.

INTRODUCTION: As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly embedded in organizational workflows, understanding how human-AI interactions shape employees' knowledge territorial behavior has become a critical issue in digital transformation. Drawing on conservation of resources theory, this study examines the differential effects of enhanced and impeded human-AI interaction on employees' knowledge territorial behavior, with organizational dehumanization as the underlying psychological mechanism and paradoxical leadership as a boundary condition. METHODS: We tested the hypotheses across

Understanding the role of organizational resilience, workers' well-being, and hazard perception on workplace injuries in an aluminum smelter.

BackgroundOccupational injuries persist as a significant challenge in high-risk industries, such as aluminum smelting. Despite extensive safety initiatives, injury rates continue to be driven by a complex interplay of organizational and workplace-level factors. A limited understanding of how these multilevel factors hinder the design of effective preventive strategies highlights the need for a deeper investigation.ObjectiveThis study aims to investigate the causal mechanisms linking organizational resilience, hazard perception, and occupational well-being to injury occurrence in aluminum smelt
