Prediction of compound-target interaction using several artificial intelligence algorithms and comparison with a consensus-based strategy.

For understanding a chemical compound's mechanism of action and its side effects, as well as for drug discovery, it is crucial to predict its possible protein targets. This study examines 15 developed target-centric models (TCM) employing different molecular descriptions and machine learning algorithms. They were contrasted with 17 third-party models implemented as web tools (WTCM). In both sets of models, consensus strategies were implemented as potential improvement over individual predictions. The findings indicate that TCM reach f1-score values greater than 0.8. Comparing both approaches,

Prediction of the daily nutrient requirements of gestating sows based on sensor data and machine-learning algorithms.

Precision feeding is a strategy for supplying an amount and composition of feed as close that are as possible to each animal's nutrient requirements, with the aim of reducing feed costs and environmental losses. Usually, the nutrient requirements of gestating sows are provided by a nutrition model that requires input data such as sow and herd characteristics, but also an estimation of future farrowing performances. New sensors and automatons, such as automatic feeders and drinkers, have been developed on pig farms over the last decade, and have produced large amounts of data. This study evalua

The Early Prediction of Common Disorders in Dairy Cows Monitored by Automatic Systems with Machine Learning Algorithms.

We use multidimensional data from automated monitoring systems and milking systems to predict disorders of dairy cows by employing eight machine learning algorithms. The data included the season, days in milking, parity, age at the time of disorders, milk yield (kg/day), activity (unitless), six variables related to rumination time, and two variables related to the electrical conductivity of milk. We analyze 131 sick cows and 149 healthy cows with identical lactation days and parity; all data are collected on the same day, which corresponds to the diagnosis day for disordered cows. For disorde

Development of Prediction Models Using Machine Learning Algorithms for Girls with Suspected Central Precocious Puberty: Retrospective Study.

BACKGROUND: Central precocious puberty (CPP) in girls seriously affects their physical and mental development in childhood. The method of diagnosis-gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-stimulation test or GnRH analogue (GnRHa)-stimulation test-is expensive and makes patients uncomfortable due to the need for repeated blood sampling. OBJECTIVE: We aimed to combine multiple CPP-related features and construct machine learning models to predict response to the GnRHa-stimulation test. METHODS: In this retrospective study, we analyzed clinical and laboratory data of 1757 girls who underwent a GnR

Prediction of periventricular leukomalacia. Part I: Selection of hemodynamic features using logistic regression and decision tree algorithms.

OBJECTIVE: Periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) is part of a spectrum of cerebral white matter injury which is associated with adverse neurodevelopmental outcome in preterm infants. While PVL is common in neonates with cardiac disease, both before and after surgery, it is less common in older infants with cardiac disease. Pre-, intra-, and postoperative risk factors for the occurrence of PVL are poorly understood. The main objective of the present work is to identify potential hemodynamic risk factors for PVL occurrence in neonates with complex heart disease using logistic regression analysis an

Explainable artificial intelligence in anesthesiology prediction models: bridging the gap from black-box algorithms to clinical decision support.

Machine learning prediction models consistently outperform conventional clinical scoring tools across perioperative outcomes, yet remain largely unadopted at the bedside. This narrative review examines explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) as a bridge between algorithmic performance and clinical translation, drawing on a targeted search of PubMed and Embase (January 2018 to March 2026). Five prediction domains are synthesized: perioperative hypotension, postoperative complications, difficult airway management, depth-of-anesthesia monitoring, and regional anesthesia and pain management. 3D Kinect Camera Scheme with Time-Series Deep-Learning Algorithms for Classification and Prediction of Lung Tumor Motility.

This paper proposes a time-series deep-learning 3D Kinect camera scheme to classify the respiratory phases with a lung tumor and predict the lung tumor displacement. Specifically, the proposed scheme is driven by two time-series deep-learning algorithmic models: the respiratory-phase classification model and the regression-based prediction model. To assess the performance of the proposed scheme, the classification and prediction models were tested with four categories of datasets: patient-based datasets with regular and irregular breathing patterns; and pseudopatient-based datasets with regula
