Urinary incontinence is a common problem in elderly women. However, urinary incontinence secondary to the commonly used antihypertensive, prazosin, is a rare phenomenon. The possible mechanism of this drug in causing incontinence is described in this case report. The possibility of an exaggerated response to the drug by women suffering from borderline stress incontinence is highlighted.

A series of 28 patients injected with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) (Polytef, Mentor) paste for urinary incontinence is presented. The cystoscopic method of injection was used in 25 patients. Twenty-four adult females with stress incontinence were treated: 10 of these were long-term cures and five improved. Although incontinence has been reported after radical vulvectomy, its relationship to operative technique, anatomy, and treatment has not been defined. Twenty-one patients having vulvectomies for vulvar cancer were prospectively evaluated preoperatively and postoperatively with urodynamic function studies. A followup study is presented of a prospective series of women treated with an inflatable intravaginal electrode carrier and an external pulse generator.
