To determine the significance of 67Ga localization in the thymus of children, 142 67Ga photoscans from 45 children with various tumors were studied. Sixty-nine photoscans were taken for 17 cases of lymphoma, 73 photoscans were made for 28 cases of nonlymphoid tumors. Thymic localization of 67Ga was positive in 16 (36%) of the 45 patients and in 30 (21%) of the 142 photoscans. Arthritis is a frequent manifestation of Lyme disease. Limited triple-phase Tc-99m MDP bone imaging of the wrists and hands with delayed whole-body images was performed in a patient with Lyme arthritis. This demonstrated abnormal joint uptake in the wrists and hands in all three phases, with increased activity seen in other affected joints on delayed whole-body images. The oedema which forms around an intracerebral haemorrhage has a complex aetiology. The immune response may have a role in its formation. There is clinical and experimental evidence that circulating leucocytes and platelets may mediate oedema formation. Global depletion of circulating leucocytes and platelets by whole body irradiation in a rodent model of intracerebral haemorrhage was found to confer protection against both ischaemia and oedema formation. This was not a direct effect of irradiation of the brain. The possible mechanisms for this protection are discussed.

Scanty information is available on the relation between nevus count on specific anatomic areas and the total body surface, particularly in children. Mice received doses of 3 Gy of 60Co-gamma rays total body irradiation at four-day intervals up to a total dose of 24 Gy. After each dose per fraction half of the animals were injected with 10(6) bone marrow cells.
