CONTEXT: Adrenal venous sampling is the "gold standard" test in the diagnosis of an aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) among patients with primary aldosteronism (PA) but is available only in specialized medical centers. Meanwhile, an APA is reported to be generally more sensitive to ACTH than idiopathic hyperaldosteronism.

Primary Aldosteronism (PA) is a disorder of the adrenal zona glomerulosa (ZG) in which aldosterone secretion is increased and is relatively autonomous of normal regulatory mechanisms. We report here a new case of feminizing adrenocortical carcinoma revealed by a bilateral gynecomastia in a 50 year old man. The malignant character was already suspected on clinical and hormonal data. It was confirmed by the pathology. Subglottic hemangiomas in infants are rare but potentially lethal. Although the majority tend to regress after 12 to 18 months, lethal compromise of the airway is always possible until then. A plethora of treatments have been advocated for subglottic hemangiomas, each with significant morbidity. A 7-year-old girl had hyperaldosteronism due to an adrenal cortical adenoma, a rare, surgically remediable cause of hypertension. The subject of ectopic adrenal tissue along the spermatic cord is reviewed in respect of incidental finding during operation for undescended testis. The condition is probably more common than previously reported and embryology and clinical implications are briefly discussed. Nodules consisting of aberrant adrenal tissue should be removed whenever incidentally detected, but a routine search for them is not mandatory.
