Bilateral distal anterior cerebral artery (DACA) aneurysms also called "kissing aneurysms" or "mirror aneurysm" are extremely rare, accounting for only 0.2% of all intracranial aneurysms. There have only been a few examples of mirror DACA aneurysms reported in the literature. Here, we report a rare case of mirror DACA aneurysm in a middle aged female with its successful clipping. Patient was admitted with severe headache and altered sensorium. Computed tomography (CT) head was suggestive of anterior inter-hemispheric hematoma. Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) was done which was suggestive

The present study describes the case of patient with contrast-induced encephalopathy following cerebrovascular angiography, and presents the clinical and imaging features, as well as the treatment and prognosis of this patient. Following digital subtraction angiography, cortical blindness and cognitive dysfunction were the main complaints of the patient. The emergency craniocerebral CT scan revealed hyperdense areas in the bilateral cerebellum, thalamus, sulcus and cistern, and a review of the CT scan 24 h following the procedure revealed that the hyperintense lesions were reduced or resolved

BACKGROUND: Mechanical stimulation may lead to internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection and aneurysm.
CASE DESCRIPTION: We encountered a rare case of ICA dissection and aneurysm with prolonged styloid process (SP) fracture. A 37-year-old sales worker presented with right-sided amaurosis fugax. After admission to a nearby optical clinic, he was admitted to our hospital. Computed tomography angiography (CTA) and digital subtraction angiography showed dissection and apparent aneurysmal change in the right cervical portion of the ICA. CTA also showed elongated SPs, so we diagnosed Eagle's syndrom

An intracranial aneurysm in a pituitary adenoma (PA) is not uncommon; however, preoperative angiography is not clinically used as a routine screening test for PA patients. Therefore an intracranial aneurysm is often missed while diagnosing PA patients. When an aneurysm is missed in patients with pituitary tumors, the supporting power by the tumor to the blood vessels or aneurysm will disappear when the tumor is removed and patients may suffer intraoperative or postoperative aneurysm rupture, which may lead to fatal, catastrophic hemorrhage. Herein, we report a case of a PA patient with the sig

The most common complications following bimaxillary surgery are inferior alveolar nerve damage, hemorrhage, and relapse. Severe complications are rare, but few cases of vascular arteriovenous malformation, cavernous sinus thrombosis, formation of an aneurysm or arteriovenous shunting are reported in literature. We present a case of a 20-year-old male patient who developed a right sided tinnitus and visible pulsations close to the mandibular angle on the right side after bimaxillary surgery. CT-angiography and subsequent digital subtraction angiography (DSA) six months after surgery showed an a

Agenesis of the internal carotid artery (ICA) is a rare congenital anomaly. Recently, several cases of ICA agenesis have been associated with cerebral aneurysms. We present the seventh case of ICA agenesis with transcavernous anastomosis associated with cerebral aneurysms. A 47-year-old man presented with transient numbness of his left hand. Magnetic resonance angiography indicated the presence of anterior communicating artery (ACoA) aneurysms. Digital subtraction angiography revealed two ACoA aneurysms, absence of the left ICA, and an anomalous collateral vessel connecting the cavernous porti

The incidence of vascular injury has increased worldwide. In an attempt to quantitate the specific arteries most commonly involved in the extremities, we reviewed 75 patients with extremity trauma who were evaluated with angiography (DSA, digital subtraction angiography). The majority of these injuries were related to motor vehicle accidents (93.3%). The mean age of these patients was 28.16 +/- 11.14 years, 94.7% of these patients being male. The ratio of upper to lower extremity arterial trauma was 12 to 86. A total of 99 arterial injuries were detected angiographically. Simultaneous injuries

Arteriosclerosis of the supra-aortic vessels is a known risk factor for cerebrovascular disease. Large multicenter studies like NASCET and ECST have proven the protective effects of the surgical treatment of severe (>70%) carotid artery stenoses. The exact detection and grading of stenoses of the carotid arteries is a prerequisite for a successful therapy. Besides the gold-standard examination, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), MR angiography (MRA) is being used increasingly. MRA allows a non-invasive, high-resolution depiction of the supra-aortic vessels without ionizing radiation in onl

We report a case of isolated traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the vertebral artery in a 20-year-old man who suffered blunt injury to the left foreneck and arm in a traffic accident. A chest computed tomography (CT) scan on admission showed an upper mediastinal hematoma, but the patient's vital signs were stable. A CT scan of the head and neck showed a cerebral mass, and an elective cerebral four-vessel angiography was performed, which revealed a pseudoaneurysm in the proximal portion of the left vertebral artery. At surgery, about 2 cm of the left vertebral artery was found to be lacerated, and sut

An 8-year-old boy presenting with a transient weakness of the left extremities had a rare association of moyamoya disease and persistent primitive hypoglossal artery (PPHA). Digital subtraction angiography demonstrated intracranial moyamoya vessels and a PPHA on the right side. There was collateral blood flow from the posterior circulation to the anterior circulation, with the PPHA functioning as a blood supplier vessel. The patient underwent multiple burr hole formation, and neovascularization via the burr holes was observed on follow-up angiography. In this case, blood flow into the posterio

This study reports 10 aneurysms found in the bifurcation of the middle cerebral arteries (MCA) of seven patients, diagnosed by computed tomography angiography (CTA) and confirmed by digital subtraction angiography and surgery. Six of the 10 aneurysms bled and caused subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH): the SAH was predominant in the Sylvian fissure where the aneurysms located. Eight aneurysms had a saccular pattern, while two had a fusiform pattern. Nine aneurysms were larger than 8 mm and were easily detected by CTA, while one aneurysm was 6 mm in diameter and was missed initially. It was found, ho

Although the prevalence of renovascular hypertension is low, clinical criteria can select a population in which renovascular hypertension is significantly more common (prevalence of 15%). In these selected patients, it is appropriate to proceed to a screening modality to look for a significant renal artery stenosis. Choices of the noninvasive methods include captopril-enhanced renal scintigraphy, magnetic resonance (MR) angiography, and intravenous digital subtraction renal angiography (DSRA). Intraarterial DSRA or conventional arteriography may also be used to reliably detect renal artery ste

Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) is a rare cause of ischemic stroke. It is an important element of differential diagnosis that should be considered, especially in patients who do not have common cardiovascular risk factors. A 65-year-old man was admitted with transient left arm weakness and drooping of the mouth, asting about 3 minutes, followed by left-sided paresthesia. A similar episode had occurred a week earlier. On admission, the patient was alert and oriented. Neurological exam showed subtle flattening of the left nasolabial fold and a tendency to a positive ipsilateral Babinski sign, with

BACKGROUND: Internal jugular vein stenting is a treatment for intracranial hypertension caused by internal jugular vein stenosis (IJVS). Reports on this procedure remain limited, and stent migration is an exceptionally rare complication.
CASE PRESENTATION: A patient in their 20s presented with headache, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. Imaging revealed left transverse sinus stenosis, leading to a diagnosis of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). Symptoms initially improved following left transverse sinus stent implantation. However, three months after surgery, the patient d

Atrial myxoma is the most common primary benign tumor of the heart, with over 75% occurring in the left atrium. The migration of myxoma cells can lead to rare neurological complications such as intracranial aneurysms, embolic strokes, and arteriovenous malformations. The most common neurological manifestations in such patients include seizures, nonspecific headaches, and cerebrovascular events. Herein, we present a rare case of a middle-aged man in his early 50s with metastatic myxomatous multiple fusiform aneurysms, who initially presented with the clinical manifestation of intracerebral hemo

BACKGROUND: Traditional Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKRS) of brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) using digital subtraction angiography (DSA) requires head immobilization using a stereotactic frame.
OBJECTIVE: We describe our protocol of frameless GKRS using DSA while maintaining high spatial resolution for precision.
METHODS: This study is a retrospective review of patients with unruptured AVMs who underwent frameless GKRS. Magnetic resonance imaging and 3-dimensional DSA were obtained without a stereotactic frame for all patients. The imaging studies were merged for contouring of the AVM

BACKGROUND Middle meningeal artery (MMA) aneurysms are a very rare entity, comprising less than 1% of all intracranial aneurysms. In particular, traumatic MMA pseudoaneurysms (MMAP) are reported in the literature to have a poor outcome in about 20% of cases. Moreover, in extremely rare cases, MMAPs can spontaneously thrombose. CASE REPORT We present the case of a 42-year-old Hispanic man with multiple craniofacial hemangiomas and history of chronic migraines that increased in frequency after blunt head trauma 1 month prior to initial evaluation. CTA and brain MRI showed a right-sided MMAP adja
