Iatrogenic arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) are well described in adults; however, this complication is rarely described and reported in infants. We report the case of a 3-month-old infant with complicated gastroschisis requiring multiple venipunctures who presented with signs and symptoms suggestive of traumatic arteriovenous fistula. Ultrasound imaging confirmed the presence of a wide-necked AVF between the brachial artery and vein. The fistula was surgically repaired. This case report describes the clinical imaging and treatment options for infants with iatrogenic AVF.

The classification of arm tremor in cervical dystonia is a controversial issue. There have been many, at times passionate disputes in the movement disorder community about whether it should be classified as a manifestation of dystonia or essential tremor associated with dystonia. There are arguments in favor of both views. Settling the issue might be relevant to the understanding of the etiological, presumably genetic, background because phenomenological grouping is the starting point for genetic analyses. From this point of view, we outline this tremor debate and add some new clinical data.

BACKGROUND: Continuous peritoneal dialysis (CPD) is a modality of renal replacement therapy in children with renal failure. A retrospective study analysis of CPD data over four years at our center was carried out.
METHODS: Ten children with renal failure on CPD were included. Depending on the supply, peritoneal dialysis (PD) fluids of two different brands were used in the same patients over time. The patient months of CPD were divided into two groups based on the brand of PD fluid used. The rates of complications with the two different fluid brands were compared.

Tremor in the dominant arm is often the focus of clinical attention in essential tremor (ET) yet many daily activities require both arms. The distal lateral arm flap (DLAF) was used to reconstruct six extensive defects of the digits: 2 degloving injuries of the thumb and 4 major skin losses of the fingers. Two adjacent fingers were involved in 1 patient. Flap size ranged from 3 x 7 cm to 9 x 14 cm. Four flaps were reinnervated using the posterior cutaneous nerve of the forearm. CASE: A young, multiparous woman with type II diabetes had a low-midcavity vacuum delivery. Severe shoulder dystocia was encountered. The aim of this article was to review the dental morbidity experienced by U.K. Armed Forces serving in Iraq from deployment on Operation Telic in January 2003 until the end of phase 1 on May 1, 2003. U.K. Armed Forces dental teams treated 1800 emergency patients, including 135 prisoners of war. A total of 1523 of these were regular troops and 101 were reservists or Royal Fleet Auxiliary troops.
