INTRODUCTION: Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia (Waldmann's disease) lead to a protein-losing enteropathy due to lymph leak into intestinal tract.
EXEGESIS: A 28-year-old woman presented a bilateral lower limb lymphedema. Laboratory examination showing lymphopenia, hypoalbuminemia, hypogammaglobulinemia suggested the diagnosis of primary intestinal lymphangiectasia. Gastroscopy was normal and second duodenum biopsies were negative. Videocapsule endoscopy gave evidence of intestinal lymphangiectasia of the small bowel.

The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the endoscopic capsule for the diagnosis of bleeding of the small bowel and of Crohn's disease. A systematic review was performed. Studies with more than 10 patients, using the capsule and some other procedure for diagnostic purposes, and published in peer reviewed journals, were included. In order to evaluate the papers, a quality scale was created. The diagnostic yield of the capsule for small-bowel bleeding was approximately 55-75%. A patient aged 26 was investigated for recurrent severe gastrointestinal bleeding. Over a 4-year period, he was transfused more than 400 units of blood. Multiple investigations included three negative Meckel's scans. A right hemicolectomy for supposed angiodysplasia failed to control his bleeding. BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to evaluate the suitability of the KINGVISION videolaryngoscope for tracheal intubation.
METHODS: Endotracheal intubation was performed using the KINGVISION in 50 patients undergoing general anesthesia. We compared the percentage of glottic opening score between Coopdech Videolaryngoscope Portable VLP100 and the KINGVISION with staff anesthesiologist and novice personnel. The time to complete instrumentation and optimizing procedures were also recorded.
