Esophageal reconstruction is one of the most complex types of gastrointestinal surgery, principally when it is performed using minimally invasive techniques. The procedure is associated with various complications, such as anastomotic dehiscence, chylothorax, esophageal necrosis and fistulae. The authors report a case of massive osteolysis of the spine in an eighteen years old boy presenting a T9 collapse without neurological symptoms associated to a right chylothorax which disappeared after 5 days of drainage.
