We report on a patient with malignant histiocytosis (MH) presenting as multiple erythematous plaques and cutaneous depigmentation on her neck and chest. This study analyzed a series of 140 consecutive fine needle aspiration biopsies of the spleen (sFNAB) collected over a period of nine years. sFNABs were performed by the authors using a 22-gauge spinal needle, and 23-gauge needle in pediatric patients, with a subdiaphragmatic approach. The prognostic value of morphological parameters such as sinus histiocytosis and nonspecific lymphocyte predominance in removed neck lymph nodes in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx was presented. Long term results of the treatment in group of 179 patients have shown that regional lymph node reactivity (sinus histiocytosis and reactive lymphadenitis) is a good prognostic factor, while lack of stimulation is a factor of bad prognosis.

Cutaneous lesions in Mediterranean visceral leishmaniasis (VL) are very unusual, except for the presence of Leishmania organisms in cutaneous Kaposi's sarcoma in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). We have identified two unusual cutaneous histological features of VL in three patients with AIDS not described previously; two had "silent leishmaniasis," and in the third, Leishmania organisms were present in sweat ducts, suggesting transepithelial elimination through eccrine sweat glands and/or eccrine epithelial tropism.

An 80 year-old woman presented subleukaemic acute monoblastic leukaemia (AML-M5a). Thirty-one cases of midline peripheral T-cell lymphoma (MPTL), treated during the past two years in our hospital, are reported. Orchitis of viral or presumed viral etiology is an uncommon cause of testicular pain or enlargement. Rarely orchitis is clinically or radiographically suggestive of neoplasia, resulting in a testicular biopsy or orchiectomy being performed.
