OBJECTIVES: This study sought to investigate the impact of involvement of the infrahyoid neck space on the management of non-odontogenic DNI.
METHOD: Eighty-one patients treated for non-odontogenic DNI over 5 years were retrospectively recruited into this study. Demographics, etiology, radiology results, treatments, duration/cost of hospital stay, and complications were recorded. Differences between DNIs with and without infrahyoid involvement, as defined based on an anatomical chart, were analyzed.
