BACKGROUND: Hypertension management using home blood pressure monitoring-guided pharmacotherapy is more effective than clinic-based care, but the benefit is attenuated in underserved patients. We evaluated implementation determinants of a team-based telehealth hypertension management program providing home blood pressure monitoring-guided pharmacotherapy and self-management and social support.
METHODS: We used Exploration, Preparation, Implementation and Sustainment, and Health Equity Implementation Frameworks for semistructured interviews and inductive/deductive coding using thematic analysi

BACKGROUND: Research on emotional exhaustion (EE) among Lebanese registered nurses (RNs) during the COVID-19 pandemic is lacking, despite the extensive literature addressing EE within the healthcare workforce. This study explores the relationships between EE, self-confidence in learning (SCL), coping strategies, and perceived organizational support (POS).
METHODS: A cross-sectional study analyzed a convenience sample of 82 RNs in medium-to-large acute care settings providing direct COVID-19 patient care. Data were gathered through an online survey that measured sociodemographic, SCL, POS, cop

BACKGROUND: Patient incivility is a significant source of work-related stress for nurses, particularly in highly interactive departments such as internal medicine. Although such behaviours are low in intensity, they occur frequently, continuously depleting nurses' emotional and psychological resources and impacting their well-being and the safety of nursing care. Existing research predominantly focuses on the impact at an overall level, lacking in-depth understanding of nurses' individual cognition, coping strategies, and internal psychological processes within specific situations. This study

BACKGROUND: Despite frequently providing care to adults with cardiovascular (CV) disease in the home, home health aides and attendants (HHAs) have poor CV health (CVH) themselves, which is problematic for their own health and potentially their patients. We elicited the perspectives of HHAs towards achieving optimal CVH, including the American Heart Association’s (AHA’s) Life’s Essential 8 (LE8). METHOD: We conducted focus groups and interviews with HHAs from January 2023 to January 2024 in partnership with the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Fund, a benefit fund of the largest healthcare unio

OBJECTIVE: The living environment can significantly influence health negatively, particularly in disadvantaged neighbourhoods where risk factors and limited resources converge. Social cohesion and inclusive meeting places promote well-being, yet little is known about what makes these spaces accessible and meaningful for specific groups. This study explored how neighbourhood meeting places can better align with the needs of two often underrepresented groups: women with a non-Western migration background and teenage girls (12-18 years old), in four disadvantaged Dutch neighbourhoods.
METHODS: A

BACKGROUND: The patient with alcohol related liver disease (ALD) is an extremely complex patient who can be affected by various problems: alcohol use disorders (AUDs) (intoxication or withdrawal syndrome), psychopathological manifestations, hepatic encephalopathy (HE), family and social discomfort. Burden of caregiving for this type of patient is particularly severe. For this reason we propose our own working model.
METHODS: Thirty-one informal caregivers (ICs) of patients with ALD (28 females; mean age: 51±11) recruited in the period September-November 2021 followed prospectively were evalua

Background: The psychological health of healthcare workers is a critical global public health concern. Identifying associated risk factors and their interrelationships is key to informing the development of effective interventions. This study aimed to construct a risk factor model for psychological health among healthcare workers and to examine the strength and patterns of associations between various factors and psychological health outcomes using structural equation modeling. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 930 healthcare professionals. Structural equation modelling (SE

OBJECTIVES: We examined factors associated with sustaining tobacco screening and treatment at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), 2020 through 2024.
METHODS: We analyzed 2020-2024 Uniform Data System data for 1354 FQHCs with complete data. The primary outcome was sustained treatment, defined as meeting the ≥80% tobacco screening/treatment benchmark each year. Logistic models estimated associations between center characteristics (patient composition, receipt of special population funding, rurality) and performance.
RESULTS: Centers served a median of 13,739 patients. The mean proporti

INTRODUCTION: With over 120 million people forcibly displaced globally, asylum reception systems represent critical epidemiological interfaces. This synthesis is not confined to a single geographic region: evidence was drawn from reception systems across high-income host countries in Europe and, where available, comparable settings elsewhere, reflecting the substantial heterogeneity of reception models worldwide. Within a One Health framework, these socio-spatial environments shape communicable disease dynamics through accommodation density, sanitation capacity, and governance continuity.

BACKGROUND: Various forms of Physician-Hospital Integration (PHI) have occurred across the U.S. health care delivery system, and research has shown that the structure and characteristics of PHI models may influence various aspects of hospital performance.
PURPOSE: This study explores the relationship between different PHI types and patient experience (PX), with a specific interest in the influence of these structures on physician communication and overall hospital ratings.
METHODOLOGY: Using a Generalized Estimating Equations model, we analyzed data from 2,716 U.S. acute care hospitals (n=2,

BackgroundThe increasing integration of generative artificial intelligence into organizational work is reshaping how employees perform tasks and share decision authority with technology. However, existing research has predominantly examined the consequences of human-AI collaboration within the work domain, leaving its implications for employees' family lives less understood.ObjectiveDrawing on cognitive appraisal theory, this study examines how two distinct forms of employee-GenAI collaboration generate divergent cross-domain consequences and investigates job insecurity as an underlying psycho

Home care nurses occupy a unique position in the health care system, observing patients in their living environments and coordinating care across multiple delivery sites. Social determinants of health (SDoH), encompassing economic stability, education, health care access, neighborhood conditions, and social context, account for an estimated 30% to 90% of health outcomes, far exceeding the contribution of medical care alone. This article examines the historical, organizational, and clinical foundations of SDoH within the context of home care nursing, underscoring the critical need for systemati
