OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the associations between physical activity (PA) intensity, occupational PA engagement, and sarcopenia in younger adults.
METHODS: Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) (from 2011 to 2018) were used for the study. PA data were extracted for the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire, and the ratio of limb muscle mass (ALM) to body mass index (BMI) was used to determine sarcopenia. Multiple logistic regression was performed, and dose-response curves were drawn to evaluate the associations.

Cadmium (Cd) is a heavy metal with toxicant to reproductive functions. The aim of this study was to explore the effects of environmental exposure to Cd on human semen quality. Occupational injuries represent a relatively high proportion of the total number of injuries in Norway and thereby deserve more attention than they are currently receiving. Occupational injury claims made to insurance companies in Norway from 1991 to 1996 were analyzed for determination of their patterns. The incidence and course of aphasia, and its impact on vocational outcome, were determined in a group of 351 patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). Aphasia was found in 11.1%, the common forms being amnestic (56%, 22/39), expressive (10.3%, 4/39) and receptive (10.5%, 8/39), as found on the first language assessment. No age difference was found between the aphasic and non-aphasic patients. Coma was more common in the aphasics than the non-aphasics (95% and 82%, respectively), although its mean duration was shorter. Aphasics had more severe locomotor deficits (p < 0.01, Fisher test)

Four cases of primary pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) were studied in relation to occupational trichloroethylene (TRI) exposure. By use of a standard reporting form, extensive data were gathered on 651 deaths involving psychotropic drugs and recorded with the Coroner's or Medical Examiner's Office in each of four major U.S. cities. Chromosome analyses were carried out in lymphocytes of 32 workers occupationally exposed for more than 20 years to 50 Hz alternating electric magnetic fields in 380 kV switchyards. As compared with a control group of 22 workers of similar age and occupation but without field exposure neither the yields of structural chromosome changes nor the SCE-frequencies were increased.
