Biotechnological Test of Plant Growth-Promoting Bacteria Strains for Synthesis of Valorized Wastewater as Biofertilizer for Silvicultural Production of Holm Oak (Quercus ilex L.).

The degradation of Mediterranean forest ecosystems, such as holm oak forests, has intensified in recent decades due to climate change, forest fires, and deforestation, compromising the natural regeneration of the soil. In this context, it is essential to apply sustainable strategies to restore soil and promote plant growth, thus helping the regeneration of the ecosystem. One of these strategies is the use of plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) in combination with recovered organic waste, such as that from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). In this paper, the effects of a biofertilizer for

The Effects of Heavy Metal Pollution on Soil Nitrogen Transformation and Rice Volatile Organic Compounds under Different Water Management Practices.

One of the most concerning global environmental issues is the pollution of agricultural soils by heavy metals (HMs), especially cadmium, which not only affects human health through Cd-containing foods but also impacts the quality of rice. The soil's nitrification and denitrification processes, coupled with the release of volatile organic compounds by plants, raise substantial concerns. In this review, we summarize the recent literature related to the deleterious effects of Cd on both soil processes related to the N cycle and rice quality, particularly aroma, in different water management pract

Phytoremediation mechanism and role of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria in weed plants for eco-restoration of hazardous industrial waste polluted site: a review.

Plants have numerous strategies for phytoremediation depending upon the characteristic of pollutants. Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are essential to the process of phytoremediation and play a key part in it. The mechanism of PGPR for phytoremediation is mediated by two methods; under the direct method there is phytohormone production, nitrogen fixation, nutrient mineral solubilization, and siderophore production while the indirect method includes quorum quenching, antibiosis, production of lytic enzyme, biofilm formation, and hydrogen cyanide production. Due to their economic and

Acetic Acid-Producing Endophyte Lysinibacillus fusiformis Orchestrates Jasmonic Acid Signaling and Contributes to Repression of Cadmium Uptake in Tomato Plants.

Diverse signaling pathways regulated by phytohormones are essential for the adaptation of plants to adverse environments. Root endophytic bacteria can manipulate hormone-related pathways to benefit their host plants under stress conditions, but the mechanisms underlying endophyte-mediated plant stress adaptation remain poorly discerned. Herein, the acetic acid-producing endophytic bacteria Lysinibacillus fusiformis Cr33 greatly reduced cadmium (Cd) accumulation in tomato plants. L. fusiformis led to a marked increase in jasmonic acid (JA) content and down-regulation of iron (Fe) uptake-related
