METHOD: Retrospective, nation-wide, cohort study with data collected from the Danish Fetal Medicine Database (DFMD) and The Danish Central Cytogenetic Registry (DCCR). OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effects of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin beta (β-hCG) and the VEGF-MEK/ERK signaling pathway on villi angiogenesis in early missed abortion.
METHODS: A total of 12 cases of women with missed abortion and 12 cases of women who had induced abortion voluntarily without any disease were included in the present study. CASE PRESENTATION: We report two Black African females, aged 10 and 12 years, with an initial diagnosis of malignant ovarian tumor with elevated alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and B-human chorionic gonadotropin (B-HCG).
