We describe a case of leiomyosarcoma with osteoclast-like giant cells arising form the spermatic cord and involving the testis. This is a rare tumor which is histologically similar to the giant cell variant of malignant fibrous histiocytoma. No such cases have been reported arising from the external genitalia. We report a case of leiomyosarcoma originating from the second portion of the duodenum and associated with von Recklinghausen's disease. A 62-year-old man was admitted to our hospital complaining of abdominal pain and melena. A 5 cm tumor in the descending part of the duodenum was detected by hypotonic duodenography, CT, ultrasonography and endoscopy. Leiomyosarcoma of the renal pelvis is extremely rare. We report one such case correctly diagnosed by ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC). The FNAC smears showed a monotonous population of closely packed, spindled tumor cells arranged in interlacing bundles. A 56-year-old woman, 8 years after a total abdominal hysterectomy for leiomyosarcoma of the uterus, presented with simultaneous metastatic tumors to the bronchus and the small bowel. The former presented as atelectasis of a lung lobe and the latter as an ileoileal intussusception. Both lesions were resected and proved to be similar to the original tumor. The patient died of metastatic liver disease, 10 years after the hysterectomy and 2 years after resection of the metastases.

Leiomyosarcoma is the second most common primary retroperitoneal tumor in adults. Leiomyosarcomas of the small intestine were found in dogs during experimental induction of gastric carcinoma by oral administration of N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG). A 49-year-old woman was referred to our hospital due to suspected lung metastases for 1 month. She had a history of thyroid micropapillary carcinoma and uterine leiomyomas. An 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan, which was performed to search the source of the presumed metastasis of the disease, showed multiple lung metastases and 2 18 F-FDG-avid foci in the thyroid and colon. Biopsy of lung and resection of colon lesions were then performed, and the disease was finally identified to be rare primary colon leiomyosarcoma with multiple lung metastases.
