This study investigates the relationship between intensity and the open quotient (OQ) and speed quotient (SQ) values of combined glottography. Simultaneous electroglottography and photoglottography were performed on 20 healthy male subjects at intensities of 55 and 65 dB. Paired t-test statistical analysis showed that the open quotient varies inversely and the speed quotient directly with the intensity. When reporting findings it is therefore necessary to state the intensity at which the results were obtained.

We used wide-field color specular microscopy to study the corneal epithelium of 13 normal subjects and 13 patients with keratoconjunctivitis sicca. The frequencies of small, medium, and large cells were different in the two groups, with a shift to small cells in patients with keratoconjunctivitis sicca. Increased uptake of rose bengal dye, filaments, coarse mucus plaques, and pre-exfoliative sheets were also found in the patients with keratoconjunctivitis sicca. These findings suggest accelerated epithelial cell loss from the surface of the eye in keratoconjunctivitis sicca.

The authors classified 1,760 heterosexual pornographic magazines according to the imagery of the cover photographs. Covers depicting only a woman posed alone predominated in 1970 but constituted only 10.7% of the covers in 1981. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to document the possibility of late retinal detachment after abusive head trauma (also known as shaken baby syndrome). Abusive head trauma has been associated with different retinal findings, very rarely with retinal detachment.

A 26-year-old woman presented at 28 weeks gestation with hypertensive choroidopathy associated with pre-eclampsia. Laser photocoagulation remains the standard of care for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Rarely, exudative retinal detachment (ERD) has been observed as a complication of laser treatment.
