In 1996-2005, ejaculates of 2048 boars were collected. All boars were intended for use in artificial insemination or natural breeding and had two descended testes. Azoospermia was present in 16 of the 1097 Yorkshire boars (1.5%) and in 2 of the 951 Landrace boars (0.2%). The volatile compounds in cooked beef from the local Spanish cattle breeds, Asturiana, Avileña, Parda Alpina, Pirenaica, Retinta, Rubia Gallega, and Morucha, were studied. A nested case-control study was conducted among 1634 dogs with complete diet information in a 5-year prospective study to determine diet-related risk factors for gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV). Recurrent uveitis, a leading cause of blindness in horses, often develops as a sequela to systemic leptospirosis. Over a 7-year period, 63 of 112 (56%) horses with uveitis were seropositive for Leptospira interrogans serovar pomona, but only 23 of 260 (9%) horses without uveitis were seropositive. The author has previously shown that lesions of the coronoid process are the most common reason for elbow lameness and osteophyte formation of the elbow joint in the Rottweiler and other larger breeds.
