BACKGROUND AND AIMS: A histopathological hallmark of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is the presence of ground glass hepatocytes (GGHs). GGHs are liver cells that exhibit eosinophilic, granular, glassy cytoplasm in light microscopy and are characterized by accumulation of HBV surface (HBs) proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). We have presented a novel scolicidal agent made from fluoride-containing bioactive glass (FBG). The samples were characterized by XRD and the ion release behavior of the samples was evaluated at 37°C. A gas sensor was developed by using the chemiluminescence (CL) emission from the oxidation of ethyl ether by oxygen in the air on the surface of borate glass.
