Limb-salvaging procedures after malignant tumor resection in the extremities were performed in 22 cases, utilizing microsurgical tissue transplantation. Five patients had soft-tissue tumors and 17 had bone tumors. Thirteen cases were primarily and nine were secondarily reconstructed. Childhood autologous hematopoietic cell transplant (auto-HCT) survivors can be at risk for secondary malignant neoplasms (SMNs). We assembled a cohort of 1487 pediatric auto-HCT recipients to investigate the incidence and risk factors for SMNs. CASE: A 64-year-old man diagnosed with prostate cancer was incidentally found to have a lesion in his distal femur. Although initially concerning for metastatic prostate cancer, after biopsy by an orthopaedic oncology specialist, a diagnosis of liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor (LSMFT) was confirmed. BACKGROUND: This study describes the cytologic features of 26 angiosarcomas diagnosed on fine-needle aspiration.
METHODS: Twenty-six angiosarcomas from 20 patients were confirmed by cytomorphology and immunocytochemical (immunohistochemistry) positivity for at least 2 of 3 vascular markers. The cause-specific mortality (1940-1993) of 2,985 male workers employed in three oil refineries was examined using a proportionate mortality study design.
