BACKGROUND: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic pain disorder associated with financial burden, decreased work productivity and absenteeism. Occupational stressors and specific employment factors may contribute to the severity of FM.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Viral hepatitis A-E represents a significant public health problem. Data on the prevalence of viral hepatitis markers among alcoholics are inconsistent.
METHODS: The study included 151 patients treated for alcohol abuse in one Croatian center. The control group consisted of 110 individuals from the general population tested for a routine check-up. The prevalence of viral hepatitis markers was assessed using serology and molecular methods.
