We undertook a prospective study to determine the type and distribution of foot and ankle snowboarding injuries. Reports of 3213 snowboarding injuries were collected from 12 Colorado ski resorts between 1988 and 1995. Of these, 491 (15.3%) were ankle injuries and 58 (1.8%) were foot injuries. The steady decline in tuberculosis rates in Canada has led to a certain lack of awareness of the disease. We describe 7 patients with culture proven spinal tuberculosis, seen in a teaching hospital over a 10-year period. Persistent spinal pain and local tenderness were the most frequent presenting findings. There was a mean delay in diagnosis of 5.2 (range 1-18) months from the time of presentation. Congenital dermoid inclusion cyst (CDIC) over the anterior fontanel is a rare and benign tumor. We explored the value of postmortem computed tomography (PMCT) to augment autopsy in evaluating strangulation fatalities. A literature search identified 16 studies describing autopsy findings in 576 deaths and two studies describing autopsy and PMCT findings in six deaths.
