BACKGROUND: Patch testing is essential for identification of culprits causing allergic contact dermatitis.
OBJECTIVE: We sought to identify trends and allergen changes in our standard series during 2006 to 2010, compared with our previous report (2001-2005).

OBJECTIVE: Hazmat disaster preparedness is critical, especially as Hong Kong prepares for major international events, such as the 2008 Olympic Equestrian Games. No published medical study describes the identities and quantities of hazardous materials (HMs) in Hong Kong and lists what antidotes are needed for these dangerous goods (DGs). This study describes what HMs are most common in Hong Kong to prioritize disaster preparedness and training.

Isolated sulfite oxidase deficiency is a rare but devastating neurologic disease that usually presents in early infancy with seizures and alterations in muscle tone. Eighteen N3 cases, fourteen skullbase invasion cases and twenty-six cases of paranasal sinus cancer with orbital invasion were treated by superselective intra-arterial chemotherapy using CDDP and sodium thiosulfate to preserve the organs and to improve poor prognosis. In these patients, 100-150 mg/m2 of CDDP was administered weekly to each feeding artery of the tumor superselectively at 5 mg/m. CT-arteriography (CTA) was used to diagnosis all feeding arteries of advanced cancers before infusing CDDP. Between 1992 and 1994 two multicentre studies were performed in order to determine the frequency of sensitization to gold salts. Batch treatability studies for a Cr(VI)-contaminated glacial soil from a Cr plating facility were conducted using 1X and 2X the stoichiometric ratio of calcium polysulfide (CPS).
