Access to Care for Patients With Disabilities.

When equitable care is considered, patients with disabilities are often not included. This is unfortunate because patients with disabilities experience some of the most pronounced barriers to care of any marginalized group. Special attention should go this group in order to increase access and improve quality of care. Telehealth and other technological strategies can help to decrease some of these disparities. A focus on this population needs to be included throughout medical education so that physicians can have an increasing understanding of the challenges faced as well as potential solution

Fertility treatments in patients with medical conditions.

The use of assisted reproductive technology (ART) has dramatically changed the landscape for treatment of infertility. Increasingly, healthcare practitioners of all specialisms are likely to encounter patients who have had ART, and therefore are expected to have knowledge of this area and counsel patients appropriately. There is, however, a lack of education about fertility techniques at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Here we outline the main treatment options available to those undergoing ART, and the key considerations relevant to specialty physicians.

Medical communication skills training in the Indian setting: Need of the hour.

Advances in science and technology have revolutionized medical services in the last two decades. Medical education in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses has tried to keep pace with the changes and several curriculum modifications have taken effect. One of the commonly seen changes include active participation in "communication skills" training and implementation of the same in practice. This article discusses the practical issues one would face in day-to-day medical communication and highlights the necessity of the same in the Indian setting, with a focus on transfusion medicine.

"It's a black box": Physiotherapists' perspectives on sensorimotor control and the use of technology in this context to improve rehabilitation following ACL injury.

BACKGROUND: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries commonly occur in non-contact situations, implicating that underlying deficits in sensorimotor control may contribute to both primary and secondary injury risk. Physiotherapists play a central role in rehabilitation and have opportunities to advance recovery by use of technology targeting sensorimotor control. The integration of technologies such as wearable sensors, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence methods may support more objective assessment and context-related training after ACL injury, but clinical implementation remains li

Predictors of Online Child Sexual Abuse in a U.S. National Sample.

As technology has become increasingly integrated into the everyday lives of young people and social interactions have moved online, so too have the opportunities for child sexual abuse. However, the risk factors for online sexual abuse, and their similarities or differences with those of offline sexual abuse have not been clarified, making it difficult to design prevention strategies. Using a nationally representative online survey panel of young adults ages 18 to 28, the current study sought to identify risk factors for online childhood sexual abuse and compare their relevance and strength in
