BACKGROUND: Ipilimumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody (mAb) targeting cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4). Ipilimumab is currently approved in the U.S. and Europe for the treatment of metastatic melanoma in the first- and second-line treatment. Treatment with ipilimumab is linked to immune-related adverse events (irAEs) occurring in the majority of patients. These specific AEs include dermatitis, gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, colitis), hepatitis, hypophysitis, hypothyroidism, neuropathy, and iritis/inflammation of the ciliary body.

I have considered the neural organization of the system responsible for pulsatile LH and GnRH secretion and have described the feedback actions of two ovarian steroids, estradiol and progesterone. Enzymological and endocrine studies of rat serum cholinesterase (CHE) suggest that this enzyme is subject to a complex and specific form of regulation. Adult CHE activity levels are 3-fold higher in adult females than in males. Gonadectomy and/or hypophysectomy abolish these sex differences. Androgen and estrogen replacement to gonadectomized but not to hypophysectomized animals reverses this action. The vasopressin test gave pathological results in 12 cases of optic atrophy and normal results in three cases.
