PURPOSE: In the holangiotic retina, little is known about the connections between and the circulation within microvessel layers. The goal of the present study was to explore the three-dimensional arrangement and hemodynamics of mouse retinal microvessels.

Congenital retinal macrovessels (CRM) are rarely reported, aberrant, large branches of retinal vessels that can be both arteries and veins; however, they are more commonly veins that cross the horizontal raphe to either supply or drain the macula. In this brief report, the authors discuss optical coherence tomography angiography features of CRM in a 12-year-old male patient presenting with low visual acuity in the right eye since childhood. We reviewed the clinical features, natural history and visual prognosis of 26 patients with histologically confirmed sarcoidosis. Compatible chest x-ray changes were found in 75% of patients. PURPOSE: It has been suggested that retinal blood vessel arborization (RBVA) is unique to each individual. We examined this claim in a pedigree that included two pairs of monozygotic twins.
METHODS: Fundus photographs were taken of subjects belonging to this pedigree to compare the pattern of their RBVA. Pattern prevalence within the general population was estimated from a pre-existing clinical database.

We observed retinal vasculitis in seven patients with clinical and serologic evidence of Borrelia burgdorferi infection. Three patients presented with abrupt loss of vision due to acute retinal vasculitis. Funduscopy demonstrated engorged veins, hemorrhages, perivenous infiltrates and retinal white spots. We report a case of frosted branch angiitis in a 16-year-old-girl. She noted a sudden and severe visual disturbance in both eyes, without other systemic symptoms. We report the case of a patient presenting with serous retinal detachment following radial optic neurotomy for central retinal vein occlusion. Initially, the retinal detachment was successfully treated by a second vitrectomy and laser coagulation. After reabsorption of the gas tamponade, a recurrence of the retinal detachment was seen with no detectable retinal break.
