BACKGROUND: Although pregnancy is a physiological process it causes hormonal changes that can also affect the oral cavity. Pregnancy increases the risk of gum disease inflammation and tooth caries which could affect the health of the developing baby. Proper oral health is crucial both for mother and her babies and is related with mothers' awareness of this connection. The aim of this study was the self-assessment of women's both oral health and oral health literacy as well as mothers' awareness of the connection of oral health and pregnancy.

BACKGROUND: Gingival recession has a multifactorial etiology, involving various predisposing and precipitating factors. Non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs) are often associated with gingival recession and pose challenges due to their complex pathodynamics. There is limited evidence regarding tunnel-based procedures combined with connective tissue grafts (CTGs) for treating recession-associated NCCLs. This case study illustrates a periodontal-restorative approach for addressing multiple adjacent recession-associated NCCLs.
METHODS: A healthy, non-smoking 55-year-old Asian male presented with

BACKGROUND/AIM: The delayed re-implantation of avulsed teeth results in ankylosis, followed by replacement resorption and eventual loss of the tooth within 2-4 years. To prevent tooth loss, the root surface can be etched with acid to expose the collagen fibers present in the cementum layer. This process facilitates normal reattachment and regeneration of the periodontal ligament. This in-vitro study aimed to assess the viability and number of attached cultured Human Periodontal Ligament Cells (HPLC) on the dehydrated root surface of simulated avulsed teeth treated with citric acid and EDTA sol

CONTEXT: Novelty in today's dental practice aims at superiority in aesthetics. Dental practitioners address patient anxiety about retaining teeth while maintaining aesthetic appeal. The debate revolves around the best approach to meet their aesthetic and functional needs, leading to the development of various inlay techniques. Choosing between laboratory-processed composite resins and metal-free ceramic restorations has become increasingly complex. Laboratory-processed composites offer similar aesthetics and physical properties to dental ceramics, but ceramic restorations tend to adapt better

Although resin-based composite is the most popular direct restoration material in the U.S., composite restorations can fail shortly after placement. The leading cause of failure is recurrent marginal decay. The adhesive that bonds the composite to the tooth is intended to seal the margin, but the degradation of the adhesive seal to dentin leads to gaps that are infiltrated by cariogenic bacteria. The development of strategies to mitigate adhesive degradation is an area of intense interest. Recent studies focus on exploiting hydrogen-bond interactions to enhance polymer network stability. This
