Irbesartan (SR 47436; BMS-186295) is a selective non-peptide antagonist of angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1). Cisplatin-induced hearing loss (CIHL) affects half a million cancer patients annually, but treatment strategies are limited. Peritoneal adhesions (PAs) are a serious complication of abdominal surgery and negatively affect the quality of life of millions of people worldwide.
