Many survivors of acute respiratory failure suffer from mood disorders following discharge from the hospital. We investigated the feasibility of intensivists delivering psychological support based on positive suggestion (PSBPS) to 20 intubated patients to reduce their psychological distress. Antimicrobial drug resistance can hinder gonorrhea prevention and control efforts. In this study, we analyzed historical ciprofloxacin resistance data and gonorrhea incidence data to examine the possible effect of antimicrobial drug resistance on gonorrhea incidence at the population level. We analyzed data from the Gonococcal Isolate Surveillance Project and city-level gonorrhea incidence rates from surveillance data for 17 cities during 1991-2006. UNLABELLED: A greater emphasis on exclusive breastfeeding in recent years has re-ignited the historical debate over the role of ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) in infants with breastfeeding difficulties. Several prospective cohort studies and randomized control trials have been published in this area in the last 10-15 years. The increased incidence of sexually transmitted infections has historically been associated with military personnel at war. The incidence of gonorrhea and Chlamydia in personnel deployed in the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has not been reported. An electronic records' review of testing done from January 2004 to September 2009 revealed higher rates of Chlamydia than gonorrhea, especially among females who deploy to Iraq.
