BACKGROUND: Intracholecystic papillary-tubular neoplasm (ICPN) is a relatively new entity which includes neoplastic polyps, adenomas, and papillary neoplasms that are ≥1.0 cm. This study is done to evaluate the pathological features of ICPN and to find out the factors associated with invasion.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is a 5-year retrospective study in a referral pathology center. A total of 19 cases of ICPN are found. BACKGROUND: The Fli-1 transcription factor functions in cellular proliferation and tumorigenesis. Its role in various neoplasms and its presence in lymphocytes suggest a link between Fli-1 dysregulation and the pathogenesis of mycosis fungoides (MF). We report the case of a 56-year-old male with a history of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), RAI 0 and Binet Stage A in therapeutic abstention, who presented to the Emergency Department with a two-week history of low abdominal pain and constipation. Physical examination was unremarkable except for mild diffuse abdominal pain on palpation. Laboratory studies revealed lymphocytosis and anemia (Hb: 10.2 g/dl). An abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan showed a partial small bowel obstruction secondary to a proximal ileal neoplasm.

Among all melanomas, the mucosal type is very rare and may occur in the sino-nasal mucosa, vagina, anus and the oral cavity. At variance with melanomas of the skin, no risk factors, such as familiarity, UV-exposure and skin phenotype, have been clearly identified for such neoplasms. Frequently, the diagnosis is delayed and achieved at advanced stages or when metastases have already occurred. The authors report on a case of mucosal melanoma of the oral cavity presenting as a mass of the hard palate in a 50-year old male, and the corresponding diagnostic-therapeutic pathway.

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a chronic myeloproliferative neoplasm characterized by excess granulocytes at different stages of maturation and the presence of BCR-ABL1 fusion gene or Philadelphia chromosome. Absolute eosinophilia, basophilia, and monocytosis are not uncommon in CML. However, a rare entity called eosinophilic variant of CML (eoCML) can present with eosinophilia without excess neutrophils or basophils. Here, we report a rare and unusual case of eoCML presenting as a liver mass with abnormal liver function tests, which has not been reported in the literature so far.

Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is a systemic autoimmune disease that mainly affects middle-aged women. It is rarely associated with solid neoplasms. We report a 60-year-old woman with a past medical history relevant for SS who was diagnosed with advanced-stage gastric adenocarcinoma upon evaluating for peritoneal carcinomatosis and succumbed two months after her original diagnosis. This case highlights the significance of considering gastrointestinal (GI) malignancy as an essential differential, particularly when evaluating patients with SS who fail conservative treatment for their GI symptoms.

Lymphatic malformation (LM) is a benign neoplasm that consists of abnormally formed lymphatic vessels and cavities. The incidence of LM is 6% among all benign tumors. Mediastinal localization is extremely rare, only case reports in adults are described. Clinical observation of 42-year-old patient with LM of cervical-supraclavicular area and large mediastinal component communicating with thoracic lymphatic duct is presented.
