INTRODUCTION: Treatment with iron chelators is essential for patients with iron overload secondary to repeated trans fusions. Deferasirox is the first once-daily oral active iron chelator. As a result, therapeutic adherence has improved, reducing the complications of iron overload, especially heart failure.
