The aim of this study was to describe the effects of a single dose of the gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist acyline on testicular characteristics of the domestic cat. Twelve mature cats were orchidectomised unilaterally (right testis) on Day -7 (n=7) or Day 15 (n=5). On Day 0, 330 μg/kg acyline was administered s.c. to all the animals. Left orchidectomy was carried out on Day 15 (n=2), Day 30 (n=4) and Day 60 (n=6). Rabies is a viral contagious disease. During the disease there are unreversable inflammatory changes of the brain ending with death. Thus, every human and animal bite case is epidemiologicaly analyzed. The aim of the study was an analyze of cases of observation of companion and wild animals that had bitten humans in the city of Wroclaw and surrounding in the years 200-2009. In that time 925 cases were reported and observed. Among these group dogs were 81%, cat's 13,5% and other species 5,5%. In 925 observations cases 928 people were hurt, but only 10,1% contacted the doctor of human medicine.

This study focuses on the enhancement of aerobic granulation and biological nutrient removal maintenance treating domestic wastewater. Two sequencing batch reactors (SBRs) were inoculated with either only floccular sludge (100%-floc SBR) or supplemented with 10% crushed granules (90%-floc SBR). Granules developed in both reactors. A 53-year-old woman presented with a right eye injury due to domestic violence. The crystalline lens in that eye was completely dislocated into the anterior chamber, fixated by the cornea and the iris. Fundoscopy showed a mild vitreous haemorrhage and a giant retinal tear. A modified lensectomy with a fragmatome was performed. During this procedure the capsule was preserved first to minimise the risk of corneal damage and second to reduce vitreous traction, which would repair the giant retinal tear.
