Cephalopagus is a rare variety of conjoined twins. They are fused with their heads, thoracic and upper abdominal cavities. The exact mechanism for development of conjoined twins cannot be clearly explained. BACKGROUND: Rupture of the hollow viscera due to battered child syndrome is an unusual clinical finding and it is even less likely when we encounter total duodenum section. The literature on child abuse does not include visceral lesions as part of the spectrum. The aim of this study was to analize if complete duodenal section is a reliable indicator of severe physical abuse. BACKGROUND: Merkel cell cancer (MCC) is an uncommon neuroendocrine skin cancer occurring predominantly in elderly Caucasians. It tends to metastasize to regional lymph nodes and viscera and is sensitive to chemotherapy but recurs rapidly.
