Aluminum phosphide (ALP) poisoning remains a critical challenge because of the limited number of treatment options. ALP disrupts the electron transport chain, causing ATP depletion, oxidative stress, and cytotoxicity. Soil transmitted helminth (STH) infections remain prevalent in India despite the ongoing deworming program. Here, we report a case of triple infection of Ascaris lumbricoides, Ancylostoma duodenale, and Strongyloides stercoralis, in a young asymptomatic and apparently immunocompetent female presenting with aluminium phosphide poisoning. Septic tanks with subsequent soil treatment systems (STS) are a common treatment technique for domestic wastewater in rural areas. Binary oxide systems (CuCr2O4, CuCo2O4), deposited onto cordierite monoliths of honeycomb structure with a second support (finely dispersed Al2O3), were prepared as filters for catalytic combustion of diesel soot using internal combustion engine's gas exhausts (O2, NOx, H2O, CO2) and O3 as oxidizing agents. Aluminumphosphide (AlP) is used worldwide as a rodenticide. Exposed patients are rare in northern Europe due to restricted use. AlP reacts with water or acid to form phosphine which inhibits cellular metabolism and cause cellular hypoxia leading to respiratory distress, unconsciousness, hypotension and cardiac arrhythmias. The treatment is symptomatic and no antidote is available. We present a case story of an intended poisoning in which initial treatment was postponed until proper safety measures for health professionals were available.

Total hip arthroplasty (THA) bearings were fabricated from silicon nitride (Si(3)N(4)) powder. Mechanical testing showed that Si(3)N(4) had improved fracture toughness and fracture strength over modern alumina (Al(2)O(3)) ceramic. An in vivo experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of sodium selenite, sepiolite, and bentonite on inorganic mercury (Hg) and methylmercury (MeHg) bioaccumulation. For this purpose 160 chickens were fed under different controlled conditions. Chickens were exposed to Hg(II) and MeHg added to feed with or without selenium or clays supplementation. No significant differences were observed in the voluntary intake and feed/gain conversion rates. The target organs of Hg(II) and MeHg in chickens were the liver and kidney, respectively, but the greatest body store was the muscle in both cases
