We present a case of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)-like erythroderma related to thymoma-associated multiorgan autoimmunity (TAMA), a rare paraneoplastic syndrome. A 45-year-old woman with a history of a recent thymoma resection was admitted to the intensive care unit for erythroderma. Thymoma-associated multiorgan autoimmunity (TAMA) is a rare paraneoplastic disorder that presents similarly to graft versus host disease (GVHD). We report a unique case of TAMA presenting as a GVHD-like erythroderma in an elderly male with a history of benign thymoma. Erythroderma is challenging to diagnose. The aim of this single-centre retrospective study was to identify factors that can be used to improve the diagnosis of erythroderma. Among 91 patients with erythroderma, 21 were diagnosed with eczema, 17 with psoriasis, 20 with drug-induced erythroderma, 13 with erythrodermic mycosis fungoides and 20 with Sézary syndrome. CARD14-associated papulosquamous eruption (CAPE) was proposed in 2018 to describe the clinical features of psoriasis and pityriasis rubra pilaris with CARD 14 mutations. We report a 5-month-old female infant who developed CAPE-associated erythroderma. Although she did not respond to conventional therapies, she responded well to ustekinumab treatment at the age of 4 years.

The marked photosensitivity associated with chronic actinic dermatitis (CAD) is presumed to be due to a T cell-mediated response to ultraviolet (UV)-induced epidermal neoantigens. A 57-year-old man with erythrodermia, who was given 5-10 mg/day of prednisolone for 2.5 years, was admitted to our hospital for squamous cell lung carcinoma of the right upper lobe. A bronchoscopy revealed a tumor nearly obstructing the right upper lobe bronchus. A bronchoplastic lobectomy was performed with wide wedge resection of the main bronchus and truncus intermedius. A postoperative bronchoscopy revealed good healing of the anastomosis and a 3-dimensional construction of the bronchus with chest computed tomography demonstrated no stenotic change and no kinking change in the anastomosis.

BACKGROUND: UVA1 (340 to 400 nm) was found to be effective in the treatment of early-stage mycosis fungoides (MF).
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of UVA1 phototherapy for widespread plaque-type, nodular, and erythrodermic MF.
METHODS: Thirteen patients (8 with stage IB, 4 with IIB, and 1 with III MF) received 100 J/cm(2) UVA1 daily until remission. Four patients also had lesions inaccessible by UVA1 that were considered control lesions. Immunocytologic studies of skin infiltrates and circulating T cells were done before and after the therapy.

Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal agent widely used to treat dermatophyte onychomycosis and dermatomycoses. We report 10 severe cutaneous adverse reactions associated with terbinafine therapy which required discontinuation of the antifungal agent: erythema multiforme (five patients), erythroderma (one), severe urticaria (one), pityriasis rosea (one) and worsening of pre-existing psoriasis (two patients). We describe two siblings with unique psoriasiform erythrokeratodermia associated with cleidocranial dysplasia, urogenital anomalies and atresia ani. The skin lesions were characterized by demarcated psoriasiform erythema with scaling. We report the first case of subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus presenting with exfoliative erythroderma. Although our patient had uniquely extensive skin disease, she had the clinical, histologic, serologic, and immunogenetic features of subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus. Complete remission was obtained with a short course of systemic corticosteroids and long-term hydroxychloroquine therapy. We briefly discuss the usual features of subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus.
