Microspherophakia is a rare, bilateral developmental anomaly of the crystalline lens. It can occur in isolation or as a component of a familial disorder. It has been associated with the Weill-Marchesani syndrome and Marfan syndrome. Angle clousure glaucoma can occur in microspherophakia and is the primary cause of visual loss. The purpose of this study was to evaluate both the intraocular pressure (IOP)-decreasing and neuroprotective effects of Rescula (0.12% unoprostone isopropyl) as an alternative therapy to betablockers with a long-term drift effect in patients with glaucoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Charts from all Chinese-American patients seen in a comprehensive ophthalmology clinic in the Chinatown district of San Francisco in 2002 were reviewed. BACKGROUND: Topiramate (TPM) is a drug commonly used by neurophysicians and psychiatrists for a plethora of indications. Topiramate has been reported to induce acute angle closure glaucoma as an adverse effect. However, there is limited literature on Topiramate causing hypopyon uveitis and intense ocular inflammation.
