Nurse-perceived workload, staffing, and patient turnover: An analysis of longitudinal routine data.

BACKGROUND: Nursing workload is a critical factor in ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and maintaining nurse well-being. While high workload has been linked to adverse outcomes for both patients and staff, its assessment remains challenging. Common approaches rely on activity- or dependency-based measures or professional judgement, yet these often overlook important subjective and contextual factors. Nurse-perceived workload, particularly at the shift level, offers valuable insights but has received limited attention in research and is rarely used to guide staffing decisions. OBJECTIVE

Analysis of risk factors for lower extremity DVT following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy and nursing intervention strategies: a single centre retrospective cohort study.

To identify independent risk factors for lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), develop a risk prediction model, and propose targeted nursing intervention strategies. A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data from 199 RARP patients treated between January 2023 and April 2024. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were employed to identify risk factors, followed by the development and validation of a predictive model. Non-O blood type (OR = 3.058), elevated preoperative D-dimer levels (OR = 13.729), and

Application of a hierarchical model incorporating intrafamily correlation and cluster effects.

BACKGROUND: Research interventions at the family level often include individual- and group-level data that can present an analytic challenge. The study that motivated this article was an intervention study conducted with elementary school children and their parents. Randomization occurred at the school level, with families nested within schools. Repeated measurements collected from children and parents at different time points presented modeling challenges, including how to specify the covariance structure correctly among all measurements. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to introduce a

Party Drug Use Among Gay Men: Expanding Contemporary Understandings for Nursing Practice.

BACKGROUND: The extant literature about party drug use among gay men primarily produces a list of negative health sequelae that correlate with using these substances. Missing from the current research are explorations about why people consume party drugs. In other words, researchers have not systematically collected people's narratives about "what they get out of" party drugs. METHODS: Using Deleuze's and Bataille's work, exploratory semistructured interviews were undertaken with gay men who reported attending circuit parties, using party drugs, and engaging in condomless sex. RESULTS: Seven

[Quality assurance in midwifery outside the hospital: reasoning and suggestions for its execution].

Childbirths outside the hospital make up a small but during the last years increasing part of births. At the same time a process of sorting out midwifery institutions outside the hospital is taking place. The quality of providing obstetric care outside the hospital is called in question by clinical obstetricians as a result of a supposed high risk. Meanwhile the results of a lot of studies, including also those from Germany, allow an evaluation of indication, quality and the limits of midwifery outside the hospital. Against this background quality assurance acquires a special importance. Curre

The Willingness of the Elderly to Choose Nursing Care: Evidence From in China.

With the accelerating aging of the population and the worsening psychological conditions of older people, the traditional mode of family support for the elderly in China does not always meet the physical and psychological needs of the elderly, and more social support modes for the elderly are needed. Based on 3,513 valid questionnaires on the long-term care and protection needs of Chinese residents, this paper uses a logit regression model to analyze the factors influencing the willingness of the elderly to choose nursing care. The results show that intergenerational family support for the eld
