BACKGROUND: Enteric fever is a systemic disease caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi or Salmonella enterica serovar Paratyphi, characterized by high fever and abdominal pain. Most patients with enteric fever improve within a few days after antibiotic treatment. However, some patients do not recover as easily and develop fatal life-threatening complications, including intestinal hemorrhage. Lower gastrointestinal bleeding has been reported in 10% of cases. Vulvar aphthous ulcer, also known as acute genital ulceration or Lipschutz ulcers, is an uncommon, non-sexually acquired condition characterized by sudden onset ulcerations of the vulva in young girls and women. It is thought to represent an immunologic reaction to an infection or other source of inflammation and is commonly preceded by prodromal symptoms including fever, chills, fatigue, and malaise. During the COVID-19 pandemic, vulvar aphthous ulcer associated with COVID-19 infection has been reported. Here, we report a case of vulvar aphthous ulcer in response to COVID-19 vaccination.

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare, reactive, non-infectious inflammatory dermatosis. It typically presents with extensive cutaneous ulcerations. Gout is a multisystem disease that may present in different ways. We report an elderly man who presented with a large ulcer of the left leg with hard yellow projections evolving for one year. Analytical study revealed a normal uric acid level, but histopathology showed a focal basophilic acellular material compatible with a gouty tophus. Although myiasis infestation of wounds presents with significant psychological discomfort to patients, studies have shown that it can be beneficial in the management of recalcitrant ulcers resistant to standard management. Diphtheria is an infectious disease transmitted by air or by contact. There are three main species of corynebacterium: diphtheriae, ulcerans, and pseudotuberculosis. They may or may not secrete a toxin responsible for serious cardiac or neurological complications. The frequent clinical presentations are diphtheria angina and cutaneous diphtheria. AIM: To analyze the outcomes of fast track rehabilitation program in patients with perforated duodenal ulcer (PDU).
MATERIAL AND METHODS: For the period 2013-2016 at the Department of Surgery and Endoscopy 206 PDU patients have been treated. Inclusion criterion for the main group (n=77) was duodenal ulcers, their dimension up to 1 cm, laparoscopic suture of perforated ulcer, fast track rehabilitation program implementation.
