Linezolid (LNZ), an oxazolidinone antibiotic, is widely used in human clinical practice. However, due to insufficient regulatory oversight, some livestock farms illegally incorporate LNZ into animal feed, leading to residues in animal-derived foods and posing a food safety risk. Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) was purified 148.80-fold in 37.92% yield by hydrophobic interaction chromatography technique. The purity of PON1 was checked by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) with a single band of 43 kDa. In this work, high affinity polyclonal antibodies for ribavirin (RBV) from new haptens were prepared and were used to analyse RBV residues in chicken muscle, eggs and duck muscle. Diphenhydramine is widely used as an over-the-counter antihistamine. However, the specific human cytochrome P450 (P450) isozymes that mediate the metabolism of diphenhydramine in the range of clinically relevant concentrations (0.14-0.77 microM) remain unclear. A lectin in gluten was detected by agglutination of papain-treated human erythrocytes. A partially purified lectin preparation was obtained by chromatography on immobilized ovalbumin.
